Itet 2024 Iwaki Auditorium Celebration Concert Sunday 1st December 2024

Innovation, Excitement & Inspiration.

Breaking Barriers. Building Musicians.

John Noble’s visionary creation, ITET, is revolutionizing access to high-level string chamber music for students in regional and rural Victoria. Designed to eliminate the tyranny of distance and limited access to professional mentorship, ITET is an exciting, innovative, and inspiring program that empowers young string players to thrive.

Each ensemble receives monthly mentoring from acclaimed violinist and Artistic Director John Noble, Melbourne’s renowned Flinders Quartet, and other exceptional professional musicians. These students are supported by a powerful network of communities, philanthropists, schools, and government partners — all working together to provide the rehearsal spaces, technical infrastructure, and online platforms that make this mentorship possible.

ITET musicians gain real-world experience through regular performances at civic, private, and community events — building confidence, musical maturity, and stage presence. They’re also connected with professional ensembles across Australia, expanding their horizons and raising their performance standards.

Since 2018, Flinders Quartet has proudly served as Artistic Patron, offering transformative performance opportunities and regularly sharing the stage with our regional ensembles — creating concerts that are as inspiring as they are unforgettable.

“Sharing music in a small ensemble with John Noble has been so encouraging and challenging (in a positive way). Also, meeting new people connected with music through this program has been a wonderful experience; from mentors to sponsors to appreciative audience members. It has also personally given me some resilience to keep going with music throughout the CoVid ordeal. Having a reason to practise and connect with mentors has been very therapeutic and given me a sense of normalcy. It has also helped me to encourage others in our group to keep going with music, even with Zoom. Being part of this program is one of the most enriching and exciting things I have ever done. I truly hope it continues and grows”
